The K B S Foundation Limited serves as the philanthropic arm of the Kappa Beta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. The mission is to engage young men of color, particularly Black boys in conversations and activities critical to their understanding of self, their role in building their communities, leadership development, and economic self-sufficiency
President Barack Obama set the stage for his My Brothers Keeper Initiative in July 2013 with this statement and question, “There are a lot of kids out there who need help, who are getting negative reinforcement. And is there more that we can do to give them a sense of that their community cares about them and values them and is willing to invest in them?”
In 2007, years before My Brothers Keeper, several brothers from the Kappa Beta Sigma Chapter asked themselves and the brothers in the chapter, is there more that we can do to impact the lives of young men and boys of color. The answer was YES and to that end KBS Foundation Limited was formed.
Today, K B S Foundation Limited continues to impact the lives of young men of color through scholarships, educational programming, community involvement and strategic partnerships
